As most of you will know, I'm not a great fan of Flash. Not for business websites, anyhow. However, many of the sites we build here have a little flash as well - to add visual interest, and that's ok. Tutorials are another great use of Flash. Then there are occasions such as Christmas, where a business may want to send animated greeting cards to clients and associates. I think THIS is where Flash really becomes relevant, even for small businesses... I recently struggled for 1/2 day to create our Holiday Greeting (you can view it here). And I discovered that I really need a tune up in Flash. I haven't done much Flash work in the last few years and it shows. So, I got my self a series of Flash tutorials and hopefully I'll have some time over the holidays to brush up on my skills. As it turns out, corporate animated greeting cards go for $450 or more a piece - hopefully we'll be able to offer this as a service when this season comes around again. |
